Ginkgo Biloba Extract

Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest tree species on Earth — a 'living fossil' and the sole surviving member of an entire plant division whose lineage stretches back more than 200 million years, to before the dinosaurs. Every other species in its family is known only from the fossil record.

It is also famously tough. Ginkgo trees are planted along city streets worldwide for their tolerance of pollution and poor soil, and several ginkgos standing within a mile or two of the Hiroshima blast survived and still grow today. Native to China and recognized by its fan-shaped leaves that turn a uniform butter-gold in autumn, it has been cultivated for centuries around Chinese temples and gardens, where the dried leaf holds a long place in traditional herbal custom.
