Blue Lotus Flower
$18.99 – $179.99
Description
The Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea), or blue Egyptian water lily, is an aquatic flowering plant native to the Nile valley and East Africa. Despite the common name it is a water lily, not a true lotus — the true lotus belongs to a separate genus, Nelumbo. The flower opens with the morning sun and closes at dusk, which is very likely why the ancient Egyptians tied it to rebirth and the rising sun.
It is one of the most-depicted plants in Egyptian art: the star-shaped blossom appears on temple carvings, papyri, and tomb walls, and dried garlands of it were found among the burial goods of Tutankhamun. Traditionally the petals were steeped as a floral tea or infused into wine for rituals and celebrations.
Ours are hand-harvested whole dried flowers and petals with a soft golden-blue cast, a delicate sweet-earthy aroma, and a mild floral flavor. The petals are widely used in incense and resin work, in arrangements, and in craft and decorative work. Carefully packed in resealable portions to protect the colour and aroma.
Our price, plainly: quality blue lotus runs roughly $14-28 an ounce across the market as of August 2026, with premium whole flowers reaching $45. We sit about 10% under the going average at every tier, and we will match a lower verified price and take another 10% off it.
